RAISE IS HERE TO HELP

8/10/2020

If there’s one thing we would do well to have learnt this year, it is that we could all benefit from understanding mental health better: how to look after our own, and that of our people. There’s every likelihood that we will continue to move in and out of alert levels over time, so with restrictions now at Level 1 nationally and some of the pressure easing for many organisations, this could be a good time to look at upskilling yourself and your management team in preparation for whatever comes next.

While none of us know what the future will hold, we do know that each individual responds to the types of trauma and uncertainty we have experienced this year in different ways and at different times. Some will have been largely unaffected by what has come up for them and will remain so; some will have already experienced symptoms brought about by, for example, fear, anxiety and worry; and yet others who have seemed to be coping fine may have issues manifest seemingly out of the blue.

Raise has a library of resources with information and ways to help when people are struggling to cope, and how to recognise the signs of trauma and fatigue. Our Mental Health and Trauma resources may be particularly helpful at this time.

Psychological first aid
Raise provides a range of training opportunities to help managers and their teams through challenging times. At this time, managers can be better prepared to support their teams with knowledge of psychological first aid; the intervention of emotional and practical support to someone who has experienced a traumatic event – either a large-scale disaster or a personal traumatic incident. Raise provides a two-hour, one-on-one session that takes a look at how we respond physically and neurologically when we feel under threat. Participants are provided with practical tools and strategies to help mitigate the stress/threat response and resume their ability to function.

GET IN TOUCH
To have a chat with us about this workshop and other training options that could be helpful, feel free to give our National Relationship Manager, Jordan Smith, a call on 021-319-285.

SUPPORT WITH FUNDING
Our Psychological First Aid workshop can also be partially funded for managers through the Regional Business Partner Network. If you’re not already a member of the Network, you can find out more information here.
